iRacing runs 12 week seasons and every 13th week they upgrade the sim. This season's week 13 upgrades will include Donington Park and possibly the repaved version of the Phoenix oval. The actual sim upgrades and new features have been a closely guarded secret this time and that's not always the case. The big news though has been the fact that in 15 weeks we can expect to have driver swaps. I wonder if iRacing will do their own Bathurst 1000 with the new V8SC 2 weeks after the actual race.
As for me I'm going to have to go back through my history, but I'm not sure I've ever posted a race result and qualifying time in all 12 weeks of a series in a single season. I usually get burned out by the grind of trying to make it to a specific race each week to try and score maximum points. With the GT3 races going official all the time and splitting all the time and me not caring about points I've had a lot of fun this season and find myself looking forward to week 12 and even the start of next season.
For those of you with iRacing if you've not seen the GT3 schedule for Season 3 check it out. Week 3 is going to be Twin Ring Motegi East at night. It kicks off week 1 with Sebring and other highlights include 9 weeks of 30 minute races the addition of the Ford GT GT3 to the series and a visit to VIR week 6. Even if you're not a fan of GT cars I'd encourage you to give it a try. Nothing beats a series where the races split so you've got similar skill levels of competition.
